THE NEW BABY!

My big baby is holding my new baby.  "Murphy" was my surprise early birthday present and he is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!  He is also full of mischief and funny and clumsy as only puppies can be.

Poor Duffy had his nose out of joint for a little while but they are great friends now.

PRETTY THINGS

I entered another vintage sheet swap that Zara organised and these lovely pieces are what I received.  I don't have any of these patterns, can't wait to add them to the hexie quilt I am making.

I also made these sweet slippers for a new baby girl, pattern from Simply Crochet magazine.

OH DEAR!!

In my last post waayy back at the beginning of the year I said I would post some pics of our little holiday but I can't find the cord to connect my camera to the computer to load them.  Trust me.  Anyway this is what I have been up to since then..............

Lots of yarn winding with the winder I got for Christmas.

Making a blanket for a baby boy.  I know 3 people who are pregnant at the moment and I am not sure how I am going to get 3 more blankets made in time for the new arrivals.  YEEK!!!!  I love the colours of this blanket though.

My first attempt at making a quilt, I have finally found the courage to use all of my vintage sheets for something.
And right at the bottom is just a quick pick of some vintage crockery that I used for a party on the weekend.  It was lovely to catch up with some friends we haven't seen for quite a while.

MY LATEST PROJECT!!!!

This blanket is for the impending arrival of a work colleagues baby girl.  I hope she likes the colours (I think she will).  QUESTION: Why is it that I am able to finish projects destined for other people, yet when I start something for myself it always becomes a WIP?  I have so many things for myself on the backburner. HMMM..........

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!
A belated Merry Christmas to every one. Like most people we ate good food and spent time with family.
I

I started this post a couple of weeks ago and never finished it.  I am back to work on Monday but thought I would continue with this post anyway.

This photo is from the Werribee zoo where Master O. and I met with his cousins for a day out.  I just love Giraffes, don't know why.

On one of our really hot 40 degree days, Mr JAB's brother invited us down to the boatshed that he has recently purchased in Werribee South.  What a lovely way to spend a hot day.  Just wondering up and down the beach, fossicking and making patterns with shells and sandcastles with Master O.  He had a lovely time.  After a few hours a storm came over the bay and it was amazing to watch it and spend some time in the warm rain.  Such a blissful and relaxing day, I haven't felt that relaxed in such a long time.  The lovely thing is, is that he told us that we can spend time there anytime we like, so generous.

This isn't my brother in law's shed, I just loved the look of it.  We let our imaginations run wild and we decided that it was haunted.  Silly but fun.  We also had a short holiday in Ballarat so I will post some pics soon.

A Finished Piece of Felt............
So in my last post I put in this photo of some colours that I had selected to make some felt for a special friend.  Well I finally got around to making the first piece, I haven't felted in more than 12 months and is was very satisfying to complete a piece.

Here is the fleece layed out and ready to be wet down and felted.

And here is the finished piece.  At the moment I am adding some decorative stitching.

The cornflowers starting to bloom.

Franklin waking from his winter hibernation and looking for food.
