The pattern for these flowers is in Issue 7 of the Simply Crochet magazine.

Adding some pretty buttons.

And some needle felted hearts that I had left over from an earlier project.

Strung together to make a pretty garland/bunting type decoration.

And another garland/bunting that I put together for a brand new baby boy in the family.

Stay tuned there will be more Christmas makes coming...........

CHRISTMAS CRAFTING!

I bought some air drying clay this week to make a pendant for Master O's dress up day and I had some left over.  I thought it might be fun to make some decorations.

After rolling the clay out flat I then rolled a doily over the top to make the impression and then simply cut them out with a cookie cutter and put a hole in the top for some string.  Easy peasy.

Wrapped and ready to go under the Christmas Tree.  Simple little gifts made from the heart.  Hope you are all having fun with your Christmas Crafting..............
DRESS UP DAY AT SCHOOL!

I don't usually blog about personal things but my gorgeous son had a dress up day at school this week and he was very proud and excited.  He is dressed up as Yugi, a character from one of his favourite cartoons 'Yu Gi Oh'.

The pic below is just to show you that he does like to smile, when I asked him why he wasn't smiling in the dress up pics he explained that it was because he was 'in character'.

On a totally unrelated note, Joy from Joyjinks Creations can you please send me an email with your details.  Congratulations you have won the vintage poster.

I Finished My Blanket.......FINALLY!!!!!

I started this blanket in December 2013.  So it has taken me a whole 10 months, and it's not even that big.  I haven't been working on it non stop though.  I got sick of it quite a lot and would put it away for weeks at a time and then I completed other little projects.  Any way I am happy with the result.

Now that I have finished the blanket above I have given myself permission to start on another.  I love the color combinations of this one so far.  I will keep posting pics as it progresses.

FLORAL LOVLINESS.............

My vintage sheet fat quarters are all cut up and ready to go to Zara.  The only trouble is I don't think they are all going to fit into the satchel I have purchased.  Oh well....  Back to the post office.

I picked this lilac from my late Nana's tree today.  My grandfather always threatens to have the tree cut down, my Nana loved it and he didn't.  Last year he threatened again because it didn't flower the year before.  I had a giggle and told him that Nana would probably make it flower that year just to annoy him and guess what???  The tree produced lots of flowers and it did again this year.  Lucky for me because I love that tree too, it has been in their front garden as long as I can remember.

AN UNEXPECTED BIRTHDAY PRESENT!
A couple of weeks ago Mr JAB and I had a child free Saturday and we went to Daylesford for lunch to celebrate my birthday.  We decided to check out the Mill Market and whilst there I eyed off this lovely cabinet.  Mr JAB told me to buy it and he drove back to Daylesford the following weekend to collect it.  Lucky me.

I displayed some vintage tins on the top but I needed to hide the Wi Fi modem.  Hmmm..........

So I picked up a cheap frame.

And a pretty tapestry from the thrift shop.

Put the tapestry in said frame.

VOILA!  No more ugly modem in view.

And now to add my vintage china, some thrifted and some gifted.

That tiny rabbit in front of the deer belonged to my mum and is from her childhood.  The deer belonged to my great aunt.

These little ducks were a present from my dad that I have kept since I was about 7 years old.

A very blurry pic of my new cabinet in all it's glory but boy it is a lovely sight when I walk in the front door.

FELTING INSPIRATION

For those of you who are interested in felting (even those of you who are not), Elizabeth Armstrong's first book is a visual delight.  Elizabeth is a master at playing with colour and even if you aren't interested in learning to felt, the vibrancy of her art will provide endless inspiration for other forms of art.

The quality of my photos is not so great but below is just one of hundreds of visual examples within her book.  If you would like to know more about Elizabeth check out her blog or her website.  She is one talented lady.  I haven't met her but when you send her an email she always responds and seems very lovely. CONGRATULATIONS  Elizabeth on such a wonderful publication.

ZARANNE'S VINTAGE SHEET SWAP
For those of you who read this wonderful blog, you will know that Zaranne is having a Vintage Sheet Swap.  I decided to join in because I have been collecting sheets for a while now and have been reluctant to cut into them.  I thought that joining in would help me to get started.  So today I dragged them out and took photos and I will start getting them ready to post off to Zaranne this week.  Hope you enjoy looking at them.  I can't wait to see which lovely prints I receive in return.  How exciting..............
